Gaming at Ground Zero

Gaming Event at Ground Zero

Sure, we’re known as a comic shop, and first and foremost, that is what we will continue to be. However we also host a variety of gaming events, from Magic the Gathering Tournaments to Pokemon, HeroClix and Warhammer 40K.

Each Friday Night we host Friday Night Magic. FNM is ideal for casual Magic players, new players just getting back into the game and experienced players alike. Booster Draft is by far the most popular format for this event, although we occasionally host other formats as requested.

We also host regular HeroClix play on Sundays. If you haven’t tried this comics based miniature system, come in some weekend to check it out. WE’ll teach you the game, or you can just watch one of the games in progress. It is ideal for players both young and old.

If you love mini wargaming, but superheroes aren’t your speed, we also host play for Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and The Hobbit from Games Workshop.

There is no greater spectator sport in all of table top gaming than a good match of Warhammer 40,00 armies, battling it out on a fully decked out battle board. Come in some time and watch a game in progress.

Of course Warhammer is much more than just a game. It is a full hobby where the painting of the figures and clever building of terrain are equal to the play of the game itself. Because of this, we not only offer space to play, but space to paint as well. You can use our tables to build terrain, paint miniatures and trade hobby tips with fellow enthusiasts.

We also host board gaming for those who prefer something more traditional, but still a bit more challenging than Monopoly. Our board game group meets on Wednesday and Friday nights, but you can find them occasionally playing most anytime we are open.

New games are always being introduced at Ground Zero, such as Wizards of the Coasts new collectable card game, Kaijudo.

So we like to think there is something for everyone at Ground Zero. you can keep up with organized events via the calender on this site, or by liking us on Facebook. (There’s a direct link to our facebook page on the right of this site – just click on the little blue “f”)
