This September, DC is launching the biggest and most exciting comic event of the last 10+ years with their “New 52” Initiative, and Ground Zero is celebrating the event with a bang as we offer a midnight release of Flashpoint # 5 and Justice League # 1.
DC’s Flashpoint event, which has run for the past several months, has been slowly building towards a climactic change in the DCU’s timeline – catch the lead-in to comicdom’s biggest event with the final issue of Flashpoint and get a headstart on the new DCU with Justice League # 1 – on sale at 12:01, August 30th at Ground Zero!
The event will cost $10 as an entry fee. Each entry will receive a bag containing –

– 1 Justice League # 1 ($3.99 Value)
– 1 Flashpoint # 5 Variant Edition Raffle Ticket ($1.00 Value)
– 1 General Raffle Ticket ($1.00 Value)

– 1 Refreshment voucher (Roughly $5.00 Value)
Ground Zero will be open from 11:00 PM – 1:00 AM, and during that time, all DC Graphic Novels will be 20% off to attendees of the release party! Refreshments will also be served throughout the party. A raffle will be held towards the end of the event for a number of items, including Flashpoint (and other DC) variants, T-Shirts, and more! All registrants who pre-pay for the event prior to Tuesday the 30th will receive 2 extra raffle tickets in their bag – in addition, extra raffle tickets will be on sale for $1 each.

I’ve been out of the comic readership since the the early-mid 90’s. This might be good for me.
This is going to be legen-wait for it-dary.
I thought the Midnight Release went exceptionally well. I was afraid that only a few people would show up, but there was a decent crowd. Everyone seemed to have a great time and when we handed out copies of Flashpoint #5 and Justice League #1, half the people in the store started reading immediately. It was a really nice site.
